Funk Butcher

Kwame Safo set out with a vision of creating something he could mould and shape into his idea of what he believed was representative of Londons sound at the time. Houseology as a label was coincidental, but also fitted with what he had already been trying to craft out through his radio shows on Deja Vu FM and Rinse FM. Houseology through its various stages has helped to provide a snap-shot, a form of musical social commentary of what London’s dancing underground has been into and continues to do so whilst also recognising and bridging similarities with sounds outside of the capital and further afield.
